Children are the Future: It takes a Community to Educate a Child

Education is and always will be very important in building a strong foundation in one’s life. This is especially true in terms of looking at our future generation. Education is a strong building block in building a stronger and healthier community.

IDC got the opportunity to render service to the community through taking part in this year’s Brigada Eskwela. IDC was able to participate in the activity at Batinay Elementary School, a far-flung community in Cagayan de Oro, last May 29, 2018, and donated materials for Macabalang Elementary School and Lumbia Central School.

During the activity, IDC donated school supplies, construction materials for the schools’ further improvements and conducted a feeding program. This activity was in partnership with Damiani Property Management Services Inc., the official leasing and property management of IDC’s Primavera projects.

“Education is the most important tool you can receive, that can bring you the most success in society today. Education lessens the challenges you will face in life. The more knowledge you gain the more opportunities will open up to allow these children in the future to achieve better possibilities in career and personal growth.” said Frances Mae R. Galvez, IDC Brand Manager.

IDC has been a contributor in assisting the local community of Cagayan De Oro. IDC is fully aware that the real future lies in the hands of these children. This is in sync with the company’s goal to promote sustainable development. And they prioritize in making sure that these young individuals will be the next builders of our community.

“This activity becomes an eye opener to me as an individual and be a part of this Brigada Eskewela. Through the company’s effort, we are able to experience first-hand what these children need to achieve their dreams. And with are simple ways we are able to assist them in reaching their aspirations hoping that they would be somebody in the future.” said Lynette R. Rongo, IDC Sales Manager

IDC is a leader in promoting green advocacy in Cagayan de Oro. Both projects of IDC, Primavera Residences, and Primavera City, won the International Property Awards for Best Mixed-use Development in the Philippines. With its dedication to smart and passive green developments, Primavera Residences garnered the distinction of being the First Completed Condominium Project in East Asia to be given an EDGE (Excellence in Design For Greater Efficiencies), a global green certificate by IFC World Bank.
